In June 2003 the Aspen Fire swept through this little mountain town atop Mount Lemmon destroying over 200 homes and businesses. Sparked by lightning it burned over 4000 acres. The town has been rebuilding those homes and businesses ever since.
Located about 30 miles from Tucson, the area has long been a favorite retreat for Tucsonans.
