Mt. Lemmon Chairlift

Clarence Chairlift atop Mt. Lemmon

We started out at the parking lot of the ski resort and hiked along the Aspen Draw Trail looking for fall colors. An hour and a half later, we reached the very top of the mountain and spotted the running chairlift....at 9100 ft.
A couple who had just ridden the chair to the top and were planning on walking down the trail, gave us their lift tickets to ride on back down. A very appreciated gift!
If you want to hike the trail one way, buying a round-trip ticket (no one-ways are sold) at the gift shop would be a great way to see much of the mountain.
The trees are all burned here due to the devastating Aspen Fire of 2003.
