Designed by architect, Mary Jane Coulter, the Desert View Watchtower is spectacular and considered her masterpiece. She designed several structures in Grand Canyon for Fred Harvey Houses. This structure was built in 1932 and many of the beautiful drawings on the walls were done by Hopi Artist, Fred Kabotie.
The building was used as a passenger rest stop for Fred Harvey Canyon Tours and is a favorite spot for viewing sunsets.
