Carnegie Free Library

200 S. 6th across from Armory Park

Built in 1901 with Henry Trost as the architect.
Andrew Carnegie gave a generous $25,000 grant to get the collection started as part of the National Library Program.
Today it is home to the Tucson's Children Museum.

This bldg. I worked in over 2 years before I married in 1955. Mrs. Burt was the main supervisor, along w/Lela Jenewein, Elizabeth Smith, Connie Romero, Maybelle Wood, Van - something, and myself, Natalia P T., in typing room (Iforget what it was called!)
