The largest of the yuccas and a member of the Lily Family, the Joshua trees are pollinated only by the female pronuba moth.
Mormon pioneers named this species for it reminded them of the prophet Joshua waving them on to the Promised Land.
You can see this spectacular forest if you drive along US 93 between Wickenburg and Wikieup.
