This photo was taken from the grounds of the Yuma Territorial Prison looking across the Colorado River.
The black railroad bridge was built in 1923 and 1/3 of the prison had to be destroyed to make room for its foundation.
This location was used by many peoples through the ages to cross the Colorado and because of its historical significance in American history it has been named a National Heritage Site.
