It was called "Lake Elmira"

When I lived in Tucson (late 80s) this underpass went by the nickname Lake (Something), because it would frequently flood with several feet of water during monsoon season. As a matter a fact I belive the center collumn sports a flood staff marking the feet of water in the roadway.

Great Collection BTW - I love seeing some shots of historic Tucson presented/preserved here.
