Blixt-Avitia House

830 W. Alameda

On the National Register of Historic Places, Charles Blixt was the architect and builder of this Spanish Revival style home. Its "period of significance is 1900-1924." Note the stone from A Mountain used in the front.
The house is surrounded with chainlink fencing and looks to be in pretty rundown condition. No signs in the front announcing restoration work.

I grew up in Menlo Park & I remember as a little girl playing in this house. The backyard use to overlook my nana's house. If my memory is correct I thought the inside was pretty big. Was such a beautiful house so sad it's been abandoned for so many years. I drove by it today & it's detoriated so bad the front porch is gone & the backyard as a huge faded blue mobile home. It brings back so many memories of my childhood & kinda breaks my heart.

My mother owns this house. The city is making her demolish it before the end of the month. We are trying to see if we could get any help to save this beautiful house, but have not found the right person to help. I hate to see this beautiful house being torn down. It was once such a beautiful house. If you have any information that could help me, please email me at AvitiaHouse@hotmail.com
