Jewish pioneers began arriving in Arizona in the 1850s and one of their goals was to establish a place to provide social services and religious needs.
The Stone Avenue Temple was built at a cost of $4712 in 1904. It was used for worship until 1949 and today serves as a meeting place for community events.
