U.S. Courthouse

55 E. Broadway

Built in 1929 when James Wetmore was Acting Supervising Architect for the U. S. Treasury (1915-1933). He was responsible for the construction of over 2000 post offices and public buildings during his tenure.
The courthouse originally was a post office on the first floor.
This building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Also, wondered if said Mr. Wetmore is same person who had the old Wetmore Park and Swimmingpool (giant!) north of Tucson, Stone or Sixth Ave. and ? a pool which had a top to spin on in middle of it.

This certainly was the only U.S.Post Office I ever knew of and respected and bought my stamps at, mailed most everything here. A neat bldg, for sure!
