The Dome is the entrance to the annex of the San Diego State University Library. The three Library buildings can be accessed by tunnels from here.
I find it an irresistible subject for the fisheye and I've gotten a wide variety of images of it over the years.
Sadly due to State budget reductions and furloughs, some library service points have reduced hours and some services and new Library acquisitions have been curtailed.
It is a sad and shameful fact that the state of California spends more on prisons than on education.
