Expired!!

Well it's been said that a PAD is random pics to show little snip its of our daily lives. Well here is my snip it...

Our youngest child, who is now 2, has a very obvious sensitivity to a certain dairy protein. It really does a number on his tummy. Makes no difference if its from milk, yogurt, ice cream, or even cheese... all of it, does a number. Poor fella. He really enjoys dairy too. We have known this since he was 11mos old, and hoped he would outgrow it. No such luck, so far.

Today when I went grocery shopping, of course I picked up 2 quarts of Rice Milk, the only "milk" he can have that won't do a number on him. 2.89 a quart is rather expensive, so I try to get it whenever I find it on sale. (altho it is cheaper at the health food store) Anyway, I pick up two quarts and get home, unpack the groceries. As I am putting his milk into his cabinet, I check the expiration date. 09/DEC/07, ok, perhaps it expires in 2009, so I look at the other container, 02/OCT/07. Grrreeeeaaaattttt! They are both expired.. so this means another trip to the grocery store, to exchange them, only I am not going to exchange them, I want a refund. I mean, somethings you shouldn't have to do. Like check the expiration date in a grocery store, in the United States. This really has me peeved. Tomorrow, I will go back to the store and take care of all of this. What I really want to know, is HOW was this product allowed to sit on the shelf for this long, expired?!

So for tonight, it's gator juice. (Gatorade) I promise I will only purchase his milk from the health food store... from here on in!

You should check the dates in the health food store too! I can't tell you how many times I've bought products that have expired...and many with far older out-of-date dates than these! How about soy milk? I've tried the Silk Vanilla flavor and it's really delicious.
