I have said it at least a thousand times, and I am pretty sure I will say it a thousand more before they are teenagers. Children just grow too fast. One minute you are finding out the wonderful news that you are expecting, then, seems they are walking, then talking, and next thing you know you look, and you wonder where all the time went.
It's great being a mom. I love every minute of it, even those minutes that cause me to take Tylenol. I simply wouldn't have it any other way. It's a great life.
Yesterday, the weather started out beautiful. Since it's been on the cooler side, we decided to head out side until the rain comes. The Entomologist was 'itchin in his legs'(his words) to skate. He's only had these roller blades for just a couple days, and already he is jumping and acting VERY brave on them. (to balance on them is tough enough!) So he just had to show me what he can do. Here he is twisting his arms around, for what? Who knows, but according to him, it was something that I just had to get a picture of. "Look what I can do", he says. The whole time I am thinking, "Yeah, you think that's great, let me put on skates and I can do that with my legs!" (graceful, I am not)
I am eager to see where these skates take him. He has never really showed an interest in many other things, baseball was a flop, he just wasn't interested. Soccer, nope, not really interestsed in that either. He has a bike, but would rather ride his four wheeler. Skateboard, would rather be on his tummy with it. He put on these skates, and what seemed like in an instant, he was off. The day I brought them home to him, he literally wore them until it was time to go to bed. (yes, even in the house) The minute he wakes up, he wants to go outside and skate. I see where this is heading, I think. He's going to want me to take him to the skate park soon, I can just feel it. Guess it's time to buy new pads.
Stay tuned, it's bound to get interesting.
