Silhouettes were (and to some extent remain) a popular art form. This one was cut out of black paper, probably freehand, and glued to a sheet of textured cream-colored (perhaps originally white) card stock. Note the hair bow, as in the previous picture, and the sailor suit. The date and location are marked on the back of the original.
