Spring was in the air as the jacaranda tree bloomed in a forest of poles; some wooden, some metal, some red, some black, some living, some inanimate.
Sorry, I almost got poetic there. I'll try not to let it happen again.

Edit September 2023: This is the kind of thing that I was referring to in another image that I just updated, albeit one from 2008. This is another one where I just wanted to shoot a nice image that had a sense of place and, to some extent, time.
(I've noticed that "time" has become a much more pronounced issue in my photos over the last 15 years.)
I liked the combination of the verticals, and sticking the lamp globe into the hole between the branches of the various trees. I suppose it still does tell a story, a story of a long ago spring season, but it's a bit more casual about doing it than anything that I've shot recently.
This project to get my stuff squared away for a departure from PBase is taking an obscene amount of time, but maybe it's worth it since it forces me to take a look back in ways that I may not have otherwise.
The other thing is that in doing this process I've started to add the weekday into the end of the title, which I used to only do with PAD shots. However I find that knowing the day of the week can sometimes make sense of the mood of a place at the time. Though I have to admit... until I checked the calendar I would have assumed that the shots that I did on this day were on a weekday. I was surprised to see that they were from a Saturday.
