Exactly why I was motivated to take this shot... I can't say when writing from 15 years into the future. I was extremely fond of this car; by this time we had been together for 4 years, and would be for a further 5 or so. I therefore took the occasional shot of her when I was off on trips. On this occasion we had just arrived at Cattai National Park after a 15km drive from the (then) Sebel Resort & Spa Hawkesbury Valley.

Regardless of what the motivation was, looking back across this much time, I want to preserve the image as a memento.

Edit February 2025: Yes, the number plate was faked; I didn't want to put my real number plate out there, as most people don't. My car was affectionately named "Orion" after the Apollo 16 Lunar Module, which had the designation of LM 11. (Lunar EXCURSION Module, in the old naming style.) So... it's something of a pun. I did look up the number plate of my old friend a few years back; unfortunately it looks like she's no longer on the road, but few cars of 20+ years (as she would have been even then) are.
