This wasn't the shot that I set out to get; that was a stretch of road way in the early morning light. Unfortunately, I left too late to get that. The street lights that I had planned to shoot had already been turned off. Consequently I stopped, looked around and saw this rather dramatic looking cloud.
Of course, it's all fake. Not the photo, that's real enough. But there was no drama at all to the cloud. It yielded not rain, not lightning, not thunder. Yet it at least looks like it might accompany the infamous Norse god of thunder.
Truth be told, I had started to get a little bit sloppy about PADing by this point. Although I was still religiously shooting every day it was becoming a bit of a chore and I was less than assiduous about seeking out targets or processing the shots afterwards. Generally I run a process which updates the shop numbers from the 40 D to add on the number of cycles that the numbering has gone through. (In this case, this is more likely to be frame 37,816, not 7816. However I forgot to do this both today and for the shots of tomorrow. It's too late now as I've renamed some later shots so the numbers would be meaningless anyway.
