My thinly disguised contempt for The Star casino has come through in other commentaries and need not be reiterated here. However the cranes that have been used in its reconstruction have provided me with a reasonable amount of lens fodder.
It's been a mild summer to date (relatively speaking) with the Weather Bureau noting that earlier this week we had only our second 30 degree + day since January. That's as may be, but a number of days have been uncomfortably warm and sticky, including those recently. This was the start of a change. Initially just showers (on the way home I was hit by the occasional spit of rain which evaporated from my shirt long before I got home), regular rain had set in by Wednesday with, thankfully, a decline in the temperatures.
If we could just flip straight to a legendary Sydney autumn (a.k.a. "the best season in the world"), it would be greatly appreciated.
