The first PAD that I took (though I didn't know that it would be a PAD at the time) was shot from roughly this spot. However it was almost two years into the future from this shot.
After that I continued to shoot an image from that location for several years, on or around the time of the first PAD shot. Since I no longer work in Pyrmont that practice has fallen by the wayside, but I am reluctant to say that it's abandoned.
This one was one of a series of shots that I planned to put together to record the metamorphosis from the old Water Police headquarters to the open parkland that we have today. However in this case, this shot has only been added because I needed something kinda-sorta near the 29th of February for my "last year" thumbnail for that date in my 2012 PAD.

Edit September 2023: I don't think the "Last Year" thing matters so much any more, since it involves doing lots and lots of links. And never again will I assume that my photos will eternally remain on one site. However this shot is still an interesting precursor to the "Lunchtime In The Park" series. The PBase link to the first of those will be found HERE.
It's interesting to look across Johnston's Bay to see the car carrier Atlantic Spirit; this shot was taken back in the days when Glebe Island was still the main car receiving terminal on the east coast.
