This was a semi-experimental shot. Lessons learned:
(a) When taking a low down shot in a car park, don't wear lightweight casual trousers. Not if you value your knees, or unless you plan to use Live View to do the entire shot.
(b) If you think that the lighting looks dodgy, it probably is.
(c) Back-lit wooden poles probably aren't really lit at all from your camera's point of view.
(d) The volume of the ocean swell will be in inverse proportion to how far you've pressed down on the shutter release.
(e) Some clouds will add character to the sky. A lot of clouds will just leech the colour out of the ocean.
Other than that, it's getting me a little closer to the shot that I ultimately have in mind.
