Hmmm, did I go too far here or did I get what I was after? Did I overkill the polarisation, or just make it a bit dramatic? Did I incorporate too many subjects, or just a diversity of them?
There hasn't been very much rain this month, but there's been a fair amount of cloud about on and off. I noticed their billowing sun bleached fluffiness and how it contrasted with the dark undersides that seemed to promise rain but never deliver.
And that was what I started out shooting. And I thought... meh.
So I whacked on the circular polariser, cranked it to the max, noticed the apartment buildings in the distance which were being blasted by fairly intense sunlight. And I thought... maaaaybe.
Then I noticed a pair of seagulls heading into my shooting zone, flipped off the review screen, and started firing again. And I thought, as I said... hmmm, did I go too far here, or did I get what I was after?
In case anyone wonders, the diagonal wires on the right are the support cables of the Anzac Bridge.

Edit Apr 2014: It has been SO long since I've played around with lens filters. Almost all of what I do these days is done in post production. Thought truth be told, you can't EXACTLY replicate a polarising filter in post, especially if you're getting rid of reflections.
