First published in 1854 (and with a distinctly radical leaning at the time), the main broadsheet newspaper in Melbourne is The Age. Since the 1970's it has been part of the Fairfax Media group, which is also publisher of the Sydney Morning Herald.
For many years The Age has occupied this building in Spencer Street Melbourne. The building once even housed a printing plant, though that has long since (circa 2003) been relocated to larger and more modern premises at Tullamarine in Melbourne's north.
The Age will be moving to a new location just around the corner in a year or so. That building can be seen in image 3573.
