Many thanks, Tom and Dave. I was one of the slow learners. Jun1965 draftee. :-)
SVN 1967-68 and 1971. Third Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment. (Infantry)
And 1991 in civilian clothes, setting up tourism possibilities (how's that for irony).
Cheers, Comrades!

Colin and Tom,
Draftees had a term for those who did more than one tour - slow learners! We did like to be around them, though, because they knew a lot more than we did. A career as an Army officer taught me much more respect than I had as a dumber-than-dirt 20 year old. Much respect and best regards to both of you!

I second Dave Berry's comments below. I too had two tours (1966-67) and then again from 1969-1970. I was a great admirer of the Australian army and am certainly glad we're allies.

Must have been new boots. They were still black. Thank you for serving, especially two tours. I hope you post more of your SVN photos. I'm voting for this photo and the soldier in it. Best regards.

I bet you accumulated many stories, and met interesting people during your time in the service! Military life seems to add something extra and rich to one's life experiences.
