Braun Paxette llm

When the prizes are handed out for 'cute', this Paxette must be a contender.
A beautifully built German 35mm rangefinder introduced c1951 - this llM iteration
from early 1953 - the Paxette is wonderfully symmetrical in design, compact,
and full of useful functions for that era. A non-coupled rangefinder, lever wind
racheted film advance with self-cocking shutter, and interchangeable lens elements
for wide and tele angles made this a very nice 'amateurs' camera. This model comes
with a Steinheil (Munchen) Cassarit 2.8/45 lens in a Prontor-SVS synchro shutter
with self-timer. Some of the design features are quirky, which only endears it
more to me. When Braun discovered that it was much better business to manufacture
Projectors, Movie Editors and such, the Braun Paxette days were numbered.
