David Clunas asked is this a month of B&W? It's definitely looking like it. I have always looked at images in B&W to test contrast. I grew up admiring/loving Ansel Adams and his perfect B&W work. I have been influenced by many on this site who I think do stellar B&W work. One in particular is http://www.pbase.com/thejaybird !

OK... officially it is a B&W month.

It's a stunning shot! Superb detail and sherpness! Exposure spot on, top notch pp, and there's even you in the shot... BTW, you've got one strong hand (1/50)!

Nice one, like the comp, balanced around the wheel and of course all that chrome on black. Looking forward to see how the month develops. Please let us know if you come up with any 'new' ways to enhance the images.

Wow, gorgeous detail and terrific exposure. You could have really messed this up with all of the highlights in the chrome and the black tire in the same scene; however, the contrast is perfect. Good crop, too. There would be a tempation to show the entire wheel and tire, but this composition is just right and fills the frame.
