You do not know me. But as prayer chains go, I got word of your need through email. I wanted to let you know that this time last year we were in very, very similar shoes. Our 2 1/2 year old contracted e coli(to this day we have no idea how)We went to our local hospital on a Sat and late Sunday nite we were transferred to Vandy. On Tuesday is when we found out it had developed into HUS. We were there for 28 days. Many scary things happened that I won't mention. We had 7 blood transfusion and three trips to PICU. And like you, I was thrilled the day Michelle wheeled out the dialysis machine but was sad not to have daily contact with her or Sherry. When when Rory was finally taken off IV lipids, it took her several days to be able to eat without throwing it all right back up, especially when they let her have milk. And of course chocolate milk is all she wanted!! It was the most horrible things that has happened in my life. Yet I was amazed by the outpouring of friendship, love and prayers we received through it all. God was with us at every turn in that scary journey.
So as we celebrate our first anniversary post HUS, we are incredibly thankful. Rory is down to seeing Dr. Henley only every six months now. She does have to take Altace which controls her blood pressure and protein in her urine. But the medicine does a great job and she is a healthy, vibrant 3 1/2 year old. She only has good memories of her stay at VCH. Like when we FINALLY got to wheel her around in a wagon!!!! Your son is much younger so he probably won't remember it at all
And instead of being afraid of Dr's she is facinated by them. Has three Dr kits of her own and tells everyone she wants to be a Doctor.
I just wanted to tell you our story to give you some hope when hope is hard to come by at times. I will pray and send your sons name on to our church prayer chain.
Hope this helps in some small way to help lift you up during this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with little Will, Noah and the families. We have friends offering up prayers from Mo., Ohio, New Jersey and he's on many prayer lists in Owensboro, KY. Thank you for these beautiful pictures. I'm sure you know the Lord is with all of you and will keep these precious babies in his care. God bless you.
