Phlox pilosa (Downy Phlox) is an erect perennial found throughout Tennessee throughout spring. Colors range from pale-purple to white. This cluster along the roadside on the way to my office had one pinkish-purple in the mass of whites. The morning sun was just breaking through the trees.
