April 28
Blue Lyme Grass is one of my favorite ornamental grasses. The color is a misty blue green and even in USDA zone six it retains most of it's color into winter. It's rhyzomaceous nature creates beautiful flowing mounds of the colorful grass to about 30" tall with seed heads about 2' taller in mid summer. It will tolerate poor soil and is useful in hillside erosion control.
