March 29
Cersis canadensis (Redbud) is the second wave of early blooms in the Middle Tennessee Spring. While the color is usually more purple than red, there are some native selections found in our area that are true reds. The budding of the Redbud often starts right around Easter and signals the start of the Crappie spawn for outdoorsmen.
