Submitted for the April Scavenger Hunt Challenge.
Petale (should have an accent over the a) is French for
petal. Claytonia virginica (Virginia Spring Beauty) is
one of my favorite petals with pink to red veins adding
that perfect showy touch to the white. They cover big
parts of the woodland floor all around our little bit
of heaven. They are very low and tiny but highly re-
flective to the light as you can easily see in macro.
