19th November

Full berths.

windy day, the ferries were off for most of it,
the Coruisk didn't move until 4pm which left the Hebridean Princess stuck out in the bay all day...

I well recall my first day with the rest of the Class of 1943 at the Academy Primary and Annie D B McCrone, the Infant Head Mistress, standing on the steps ringing a large brass hand bell. The buiding was only five years old then and was immaculate.

It's really sad that even being in the midst of a partly closed community on an island does not protect something like the derelict academy buildings from the attention of scum, or that the authorities cannot prevent it.
