CHALLENGE - dereliction

Mackereth Cottage - Scott Creek

A sad story. After volunteers over the span of many years had lovingly restored the
little cottage some vandals broke in and torched it. Now it looks really derelict and
uncared for surrounded by waist-high grass.

Here's a shot from the distance

and the sign inside the front fence

Superbly captured. Sad story. What an empty life those vandals must lead...

Good mix of colour with the purple and red. Vandals are the same the world over :(

Guest 25-Oct-2007 16:14
Yes, very sad. The contrast of colours in the first shot is especially nice.

what a shame indeed, after all that hard work too!
Guest 25-Oct-2007 12:25
Great find- althogh a sad situation. The brightness of the fencing in the first one really grabes the attention.
Guest 25-Oct-2007 10:31
Brillinat study in colour,Yvonne, even that plastic fencing adds to the image!

beverley harrison25-Oct-2007 08:18
ohhh so sad, what do the vandals get from it? mindless idiots!!
Carinoza25-Oct-2007 06:54
At least those nice purple flowering plants made good use of such neglect
(like soft, delicate color arising from the hard, tough wall)! :-)
