The Staredown!
03-AUG-2005

The Staredown!

Orin-G came to the house with this in is mouth.
I grabbed the camera but when he saw me he dropped it to play with it.
After a while of teasing this little guy, he did get away.

Excellent! Not only a great catch but so nice and crisp. Glad the vole got away! They usually are so quick to move.

Wes, I have to own a print of this. I would like the caption to read "Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death." Let me know how to obtain.

mouse probably had a geart attack in the bushes after that!!
Jim McKinlock 05-Aug-2005 00:05
This is absolutely fantastic. They look like two lover's about to kiss, Well maybe not. More like Orin is about to chomp his head off and the mouse is begging for pitty. I'm glad Orin let him go, maybe Wanda's sympathy rubbed off on him.
Marchael 04-Aug-2005 18:34
Give Orin-G a treat or two from me for not killing the little mouse. It's funny, but this photo makes them look like best buddies. Great shot!
ewa toll 04-Aug-2005 17:40
it's a fantastic picture , so cute
Guest 04-Aug-2005 16:40
This great Ilove it. My cat plays her catch too. They get a little dazed from the torment so they just sit there. I have caught two in my bedroom after our cat was done playing with them. They just sat there and looked at us as if to say "help me please"!
Brian Straub 04-Aug-2005 15:41
Amazingly wonderful capture.
Brad K 04-Aug-2005 14:13
That is one BRAVE mouse (or stupid or maybe he's not thinking right after the cat played with it earlier)...what a great shot...i wish i had an oportunity like that but ive never seen this take place, even with three cats bringing live mice home.

Great Job!
Herb Knufken 04-Aug-2005 13:11
Great catch
Wm. Bates 04-Aug-2005 13:03
That wicked little Orrin G! He is always catching rodents and birds! Makes My heart ache when he brings them home still alive and then torments them. But that's what kitties do! If I can, when the prey is still alive and too badly injured I steal it from him and turn it loose. Boy oh boy does he give Me a dirty look when that happens!I am happy I didn't witness this confrontation. Poor little mousey. Probably ended up being someone elses dinner anyway. (sigh)
