Feb 3: Telecaster

I bought first Telecaster 7 years ago. I didn't like it at all, so I send it back and got another. I didn't like the new one much either. So I took it round to a friends workshop where he drilled 6 holes right through to fit a vintage style bridge with 3 brass saddles. I was scared, he was scared - this was a brand new guitar after all. But it did the trick. The new bridge gave it that vintage vibe, and I was happy. I'm even happier now that the brass has tarnished, but is polished where my hand touches while I play. Conclusion? It takes a little time and a few adjustments before a guitar fits right.

Hope you like this pic as I spent ages trying not to get a reflection of the lights, the camera or me in the shot!

Amazing how the most simple clean looking photos can take the longest time to get...

No, I never had the cover. The guitar is a Mexican made Standard model, which came with a modern flat bridge. The one fitted now is a repro from Stewart MacDonald...

Wow, that is the cleanest Tele bridge I've ever seen! Do you still have the cover?

Well, ir certainly gets my seal of approval. It has that lovely crisp clean quality that is the hallmark of all your non-butterdish photographs.
btw, where's the VW? Not been on here since 25th!!

Makes me shiver - pure pleasure to look at - and that goes both for that magnificient musical instrument, as well as this fantastic shot.
