Feb 2: Stones

Two of the standing stones we encounter on our walk and between them the far more recent TV mast. Trying out some new processing ideas in an attempt to replicate some of the things I used to do with film. Might have over done it a bit...

I thought you did well. And you certainly left no stone unturned ;-)

I just like the stones and the puddle, but the mast is almost incongruous. It's not really as those stones have and will outlive so many things in their locale.

Are you using Photoshop or Lightroom? I've been using LR since beta and I love it. I highly recommend. When I was using PS, i would regularly chose one of the RGB channels, the one that I liked the look of best, and isolate that into a b/w, then do any level changes. Now, obviously, that's not the same as printing film... and I certainly miss the experience and smells... but I have to admit that PS and LR have made taking pictures a lot more expedient. I have a roll of b/w in the Trip35 right now... been nursing it probably for a year. And when it's done, I'll dev with my old and certainly expired chems... I'll take what I get. In a perfect world, I'd have a little garage or shed/room that I could set up permanently for film. I would probably shoot a lot more. I would love that. But until then, I'm happy with digital most of the time.

Oh, one last thing. I love standing stones and always enjoy seeing what Northy does with them in his work... This is nice, and I like the b/w, and the reflections... I would maybe had done a bit more burning in if it was film... :-)

The stones are called The Pipers.
