Aesthetically, this is a wonderful image - but when I see what this sail is composed of, it's heartbreaking. Really puts things in perspective. Great image, Niall, and voted.

I was 4 weeks ago at the other side of the border (Ethiopia) to visit e.g. the Dassanech. How hard is the life of these people living around turkana lake. And fighting for a peace of grassland, almost no water or to much as a few month's ago.

So this one is not only beautiful but quite symbolic of that African ingenuity which you have mentioned.
I love the angle too. It makes the sail seem bigger than life as it's set against the deep blue sky and maybe because of that detail, I get the feeling that despite being torn and stiched together by hand, that it's still a damned strong sail, just like the men that are looking at it...
