- 21st Feb 2005 - Concorde

Usual problem selecting the image!

Went to a Science and Innovation conference in
Manchester today. Organised by the NWDA and DTI.
Good day, some interesting speakers - couple 0f
useful contacts :)

Popped into Manchester Airport viewing area and snapped
some Concorde shots - it was very cold!!!! This next was my
favourite, but I thought the selected shot had an abstract appeal too :)

Another great angle on it.

Wonderful photos, this plane should never have been retired...

Wonderful aircraft killed off by jealous Americans !?!? Not that I could ever afford to use her.

They're all very nice but I agree. I like this one too.

I like them all too, good work! :-)

Flying in a Concorde has been something I always wanted to do...sigh !! Great set of shots, Ian.

It's sad it does not fly anymore but still have some "sex-appeal" (well for a plane...).
When I first show your shot I thought it was taken from the air.

Great shots. Really miss this beast flying over regularly - it was the only one that shook the windows in the house!

Must be a great moment. I wish I was there. Few days ago I made a couple of shots on Schiphol. But I trough them away. Not good enough. But this is really great. Great work!

Nice shot

I too think you've chosen wisely, although it's a difficult choice. Any one would qualify. How exciting, and you got great 'abstract' shots.

Very well framed..

Beautiful images - I like the one bottom left best. Flew on the Concorde London to New York a few years ago (airfare an extravagent gift) and apart from the elegance and speed of the aircraft was stuck by the difference in travelers - some would excitedly 'camcorder' everything in sight and others would yawn and read their newspapers. As for me, I plinked away with my F70 Nikon ;o)

This looks like something from a space adventure.

I like them all! It still looks futuristic even though it's an antique. A bit like my car really (in certain lights)

You chose well. This is a great shot, the moon works really well framed by the aircraft.

Very, very nice choice. I knew it was a Concorde shot even before I read the description; something about the lines and angles.

Really nice shots of this beauty. I used to work for Sir James Hamilton who was the Director-General Concorde Project from 1966-71. He had a fantastic model of the plane on his desk that I always wished was mine - sadly it never was!

love Concorde, it's beautiful plane

Ahhhh concorde - I would have loved a trip on that!
