- 22nd Feb 2005 - Pillars of Light

This was my favourite from today... certainly 'ace' moment in the cathedral!
the light was fantastic, shining in through some stained glass windows.
Only problem was the cloudy day!

Was in Chester making my first visit to the job centre to 'sign on'. Most if not all
the hunt will be carried out outwith the centre, but you need to sign on to
continue to get National Insurance paid and so-on. Nice lady looked after me,
explaining everything very carefully :). Christopher is off college today so we went
for coffee and cake in the Cathedral Refectory (which also has nice window).
This is the window in the cafe.

Topped up the ketchup supplies on the way home. Someone was trying to define the 'snap'
photo. Well this is one in Morrisons..... very quick, point, press.... out of focus, etc.
well I just wanted to upset those with limited access. HP shelves were right next door :)

Also popped into a flower shop. Bought few tulips for Denise (Ahh), and snapped a few
shots while I was there. The assistant was really helpful, and if I'd had more
time she'd have had them up on the bench, coloured backgrounds and all (will be back.
Stuck them in the flowers gallery.

Otherwise the rest of the cathedral shots are in the Chester gallery...

Networking meeting at the local Chamber of Commerce later... but will catch the PaD
offerings later.

Yes, you saw it too :) I like the stone textures that the light brings out. Could spend a whole day in a church like this.

Good eye, beautiful stained glass window. Good luck on your job search and to your son.

Such a variety of colors! Good call. I like this one too. And I'm glad you've got ketchup again. :)

Lovely light and texture Ian and I am quite partial to the stained glass pic. I've taken several shots like this but they never turned out so nice as this! Visited this cathedral on a visit to England years and years ago.

The colours the light has created are wonderful. Good detail too.

This is fantastic.. i like the subtlety of earthy colors.. more so than the bright ones.. nicely composed to show the curves..
