ENERGY - for sale in Espelette, France

The calorie is a pre-SI metric unit of energy. The unit was first defined by Professor Nicolas Clément in 1824 as a unit of heat. This definition entered French and English dictionaries between 1841 and 1867. In most fields its use is archaic, having been replaced by the SI unit of energy, the joule. However, in many countries (USA for one) it remains in common use as a unit of food energy.

This looks very tempting, calorie rich food. Not too much, makes one fat. :-)

Now the question is... how many Scoville units, assuming there are chili peppers mixed in with that chocolate since it is from Espelette!

Cool way to show energy. Calories have gotten a bad rap haven't they, and yet we need the energy, especially from chocolate.
Cindi Smith19-Oct-2009 14:24
I'll take a bit of it all....heck, just hand over the entire baskets!
