April 7th - Sepia Windmill

The day started bright, clear and cool. We had a walk to town for breakfast and then wandered about the main street and back up to our room.
I hadn't slept well the night before, I never do in a strange bed, one of the less enjoyable parts of traveling for me, so I had a nap to catch up on my sleep.
The breezes and winds kicked up later in the day and I awoke to the whistling sound of the blinds as the wind blew through our room.
The sea was green and choppy but the skies were still clear. We took a walk on the afternoon beach, combing the sand and ocean detritus for beach glass.
It's become a guilty pleasure of ours, combing. We look for the soft surf-washed glint of white, green, blue and brown.
We walked and talked, the miles of wind-swept sand all to ourselves, not a soul in sight.
In the hour that we were on the beach, the winds blew the clouds in from the horizon over the ocean, blotting out the sun and lending an air of gloom to the skies.
Is this fish and chips weather?

Here's yesterday's PAD post.

Really nice image. I like this sepia best of the two versions.
