Fourth Birthday

Thompson Station, TN

It is getting near time to have a little nostalgia, since our son graduates in May. This was one of the first series of shots of Hayden, taken just before his fourth birthday, prior our wedding. It was late afternoon on a very warm August day, and I had planned this shot for weeks.Light was right. I used my old Nikon D1X and used the telephoto effect of my Nikon 70-210 zoom at distance, so the barn in the background would be sharp, despite being almost a km away. I shot about 30 shots in 5 minutes, and was done. Hayden tolerated it pretty well, considering his age. Mom liked the whole series. At this time, the barn is gone, and the farm property is almost filled with homes.
He's a little bigger now; his team just played their final home regular season basketball game, and I managed a candid portrait shot, which will be posted next.
Time flies at an amazing speed.

A lovely nostalgic photo and story, Michael.
Thank you for your trouble.
Sad to think that this lovely rural scene is no more.
