The Nat. Geo. photographer went back to Afghanistan to see if he could find out what happened to this young woman. He eventually found her, but she had aged greatly. Only her unusual eye color gave her away. Not a surprise when living in those difficult conditions.

The eyes of these children tell the real story of how they have suffered during a life of never-ending conflict. Very powerful image. I wondered where those old Chevy cars ended up. Voted for your excellent capture of this photo.

I remember this shot, it was the cover of Time or National Geographic or something. I bet this exhibit was fascinating.
