This is the inside of St Benet's Abbey, looking up into the night sky. What you
are seeing here might make a bit more sense if you see the abbey from outside in
this photo... http://www.pbase.com/steve_sharp/image/93180083

The ruined arch on the left is part of the original structure (about 1000 years old), and the
brick remains of the old windmill, built in/around the old abbey, was added in the 1700s. It was
pretty spooky in there (the place is, not suprisingly, said to be haunted by the ghost of a monk
and his little dog, and of another monk who was hung there for accepting a bribe from William The
Conquerer). Further info - this is the only Abbey in England with an actual official abbot!

That's a very atmospheric and nicely composed shot with the night sky peeping through the holes. Creeping around ancient buildings at night . . . you can't beat it!!!BV

Well that certainly puts and new and different perspective on the image! Very creative view Steve, and I really like the geometry which the strange angle has created. A well thought out and exposed image. +V

This image of the roof has something cosmic about it, you did a great job, and by no means it is spooky like in the outside capture of the Abbey :) V
