My Sweetheart ~ My Pal ~ My Wife
Every day after work, toolbox still in hand, Mr. Lawrence would come to his wife's grave. He would stand on the road just outside the plot and softly say a prayer. Then he would step into the plot and carefully trim the grass and clean the tombstone while talking to his beloved wife. Sometimes, he would forget his toolbox and it would remain overnight at the grave.
Many mornings, the cemetery grounds crew found him sleeping beside his wife's grave. He was there so often, they placed a bench inside the plot.
After his death, his toolbox was encased in plastic and placed under the bench where he often left it.
