TO THE POINT

Okay, for those that asked: When reverse mounted, the 50mm 1.8 functions as a macro lens. The camera cannot read any information from the lens because the contacts are facing in the opposite direction, and the adapter sits between the lens and the mount. Because of this you have to shoot in full manual mode (focus also). The exif data defaults to f/1.0, but I really had it manually set on f/22 (again camera cannot read any info). The image is slightly cropped for composition. This was shot RAW and converted in Nikon Capture NX, then resized and sharpened in PS.

Nikon D50 ,Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF
1/100s f/22 iso 200
50mm 1.8 reversed full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Excellent Kent. You must have been in photograph a long time to know about reverse mounting. With all the delicate contacts exposed, I didn't know they still did this. Great result and a big vote.
