The Antarctic Sound is located at the northern end of the Antarctic Peninsula, and is the gateway to the Weddell Sea and the eastern side of Antarctica. Large tabular icebergs that break off from the massive ice shelves migrate their way through the Sound, to the western side of Antarctica. We went as far south east into the Sound as we could go before being blockaded by an impenetrable wall of icebergs.
