My Heart Cries for the Little Lighthouse

West End of Lake Pontchartrain - New Orleans

Every teenager growing up in the New Orleans area at one time or another went out to the Point and watched "the submarine races" near the little lighthouse. After Katrina knocked it down there was much discussion by the Coast Guard to restore it to its former grandeur--it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Alas, twenty months later it is slowly sinking lower and lower. Perhaps a grassroots program can start it on its way to restoration--we shall try.
Below is what it looked like two months after Katrina's tidal surge hit it.

So very sad. And even sadder that I agree with Robin's statement.
