After weeks of scrubbing mold and mildew and tearing out floors and walls, not to mention having to throw away many of our ruined treasures, we (six of us) decided we needed a diversion. We drove two hours to Lafayette, Louisiana to watch the University of Louisiana at Lafayette play Norhtwestern University. One of our young friends is a kicker for Northwestern.
We met many people there who were doing the same thing. So much togetherness, along with the stress of the disaster was beginning to wear on all of us and we really needed this night out.
We were so tired that no one spoke going up or coming back.
