My Daughter - Smiling Through Her Tears

Louisiana

Our daughter stands near some of her losses piled on the curb. Many of her childhood memories stored in boxes were ruined by the flood water as well as her son's childhood books and toys. Flooring, beddings, furniture---all piled on the curb.
She had a foot of water in her house, two feet in the garage and storage area. A neighbor's 70 year old water oak tree fell into her house and smashed the roof. Her garden house was totally smashed with fallen trees and her beautiful gardens were demolished. Of all of us, she had the most damage. Her son commutes to high school some 150 miles a day in Baton Rouge because his school in New Orleans is flooded; besides New Orleans is closed down with martial law in effect.
One good thing--we are all alive in my immediate family and physically healthy.
