Mississippi River and the Sun Between the Storms

Montz, Louisiana

Hurricane Rita is headed to southwest Louisiana and Texas. One of the feeder bands came through and I caught the sun shining through the clouds. The tornado sirens have gone off a few times in Montz this morning and me and my cats are keeping a clear spot under the bed. When you see on the news about levee breaks in and around New Orleans please know that those are levees surrounding canals and not our Mississippi River levee.
I posted two new galleries last night. "New Orleans City Park After Hurricane Katrina" and "Metairie Gardens After Hurricane Katrina". If you think they are worthwhile, please vote for them as I would like the world to see what nature can do along with what government's neglect can undo.

Voted. Our thoughts are with the people on the Gulf coast through these difficult times.

Ominous sky. The brief lightening from the sun only makes it more so.

You amaze me in with photogaphy, commnets for others images and how you live your life. Thanks for your comments on my SP. I just came back from some prayer time with friends and will continue to pray for all of you affected by the hurricanes.

Great image Coleen. Is like a lesson that after the back clouds and storm there is the sunshine fighting to get out and give light and warm to the earth.
